what i love about spain

I was able to go to Spain this month with some of my most favorite people in the world! These are the things I enjoyed the most:The couples that walked the street in the evenings, often very dressed up.The fun bathroom signs...

The paella....yum! I even tried muscles again, after the first experience years ago wasn't that good, and actually liked them!
The Roman Artifacts
Gaudi! Gaudi! Gaudi! The most phenomenal, creative architect EVER! I LOVED his work!! The whole city of Barcelona was influenced by his amazing creations.
La Familia Segrada. Gaudi's life's work. A cathedral that is still being worked on (construction began in 1832).Gaudi's Park...I loved the pillars, so creative!

The amazing mosiacs in Gaudi's park! Oh, how I LOVED that place! I didn't want to leave!!
More of the mosaics in the park...

Eating tapas on the streets of España

The random art of Barcelona, it was everywhere and beautiful!

The Roman Aqueduct...so cool!
Take note of the Michelin Tire coat...it was a donation from sweet Rosie (Russ' friend in Madrid)! It was a little colder than expected!
The churros...not really the churros themselves, but the fact that Russ ordered 4 churros, and ended up getting 40...I'm thinking his spanish might be a little rough (don't tell him I said that!) :)
The staircases in castles!
I am always amazed at the little stature of people back in the day! God bless those hormone-fortified processed foods we have!

Major gathering places...like Plaza Mayor (in Madrid....every city has a "Plaza Mayor")

The ceramic tiles....oh the ceramic tiles!

The amazing doorknobs and doors....LOVED them!
Ceramic tiles and a door...really got me excited!

The culture! Valencia was preparing for Las Falles. They build these beautiful paper mache creations only to burn them.....somewhat sad, but really cool!Culture Part 2: the traditional dress of Las Falles

The Bull Fight...I thought it was a like, until I realized how gory it was...and then I REALLY didn't like it when I realized......

They kill the bull....It's so sad...I was rooting for the bull! Poor things!
Traveling with some AMAZING and fun people....even in the stressful times!
Thanks Russ, Darin, and Carey!!

still lovin' magic mountain at 30!

We took my roommate, Annie, to Magic Mountain for her 30th birthday! And had loads of fun!Heather (our neighbor) and I riding the Atom Crusher. I had never been on this ride at Magic Mountain, but after riding it three times in a row I soon realized that Annie LOVES this ride! She rode the ride with each one of us and LOVED every minute of it! It was great!
Getting ready to ride the Tatsu...Cute Batman and Robin...After a long day at the park, we ate at the Mooseburger Lodge...I LOVED this hamburger! :)
Annie got a little birthday treat....a moose antler straw!gotta be careful out there...anything can reach out and bite you in the butt!
It started to get a little cold out there....good thing I had the power hoodie!

ethnic night--german style

It was our second ethnic night and we decided to go to the Hofbräuhaus! We were worried about being non-drinkers, but it was so much fun, even being sober! The food was actually really good. I didn't like it when I was in Germany, but it is amazing what an English menu can do!
This gentleman's job is to test the beer from 12 Noon to 11PM! He says he drinks an average of 8-12 GI-NORMOUS beers a day. And he doesn't get drunk. His poor, poor liver!

Wurstplatte--a sausage lovers delight! It definitely had plenty of sausage. My friend, Dallin, really got into the spirit of it all.

Jägerschnitzel--the pasta was called spätzle and it was soo good! Kinda like a fancy version of macaroni and cheese! And a fact I try to keep secret is that I LOVE macaroni and cheese. It was heaven!
At the end of the night we danced and probably acted like we were drunk, it really was so much fun!
Next month? Cuban!
