this is what December looked like...

I have this absolutely perfect in every way friend who makes Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls. It goes without saying that they are absolutely phenomenal! So I decided to make them as Christmas treats for friends and neighbors. Well, they were so easy and so decadent that I just kept making them, and making them, and making them!

While I would love to keep all the glory, I've decided that I have to share the recipe with others. Really, you need to make them. Right now! Go! You will thank me!!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls
by Alexis Sorenson

2 cups creamy peanut butter
1 stick butter
Mix together

2 heaping cups powdered sugar (cookie dough consistency, not super sticky, clingy)
Add 3 cups rice krispies
Use hands to mix

Roll into balls. Place into freezer 30-60 mins.

Melt chocolate. Drop ball into chocolate. Pull out with spoon, drain a little and place on wax paper.

the day hell froze over...

December 17, 2008

The worst snow storm in the Las Vegas Valley since 1978!

I worked all day and watched the storm safe from my cute patient's window. We were so excited her little boy could be born on such a historic day!

This is what greeted me when I got off.

As much as I don't like being cold. I love the serenity of snowfall. It was so quiet. Peaceful. Stunning. I think I spent 20 minutes taking pictures in the parking lot.

My 20 minute commute took 60! Roads were closed. Cars couldn't make it up incline streets, they kept slidding down. It was insanity and a little bit funny.

But I popped the old car into 4 wheel drive for maybe the 2nd time in its life, and had a safe ride home.

To be greeted by this little guy!

Look at that snow!!

It took 3 days before it melted!! It was beautiful!
